Just because..

Over the weekend I worked on correcting my paper on the Little Mermaid. It really helped to have someone edit my paper because it was much easier to go through and fix what was needed to be fixed. I had some complications but over all it went smoothly. I really wanted to make sure I proved my point the right way so my roommate and I went a rented Little Mermaid. It made it easy for me to add certain things to my paper after watching it, and plus I got to enjoy one of my all time favorite movies!

Bonding

Every Tuesday night a group of my friends and I get together for a night full of studying and good food! Four of my really good friends live in Campus Court apartments so my girlfriends and I go there and have a huge study session. They are older than us so they help us with some homework were having trouble with or papers we are having trouble writing. We study till about 10 then go to the Roadhouse for $3 chicken fingers and fries. It's a good time for all of us to get together and talk about our weekends, or whats coming in the upcoming week. It's really cool too because it gives me time to complete homework.

Midterms

This past week has been one of the most stressful weeks so far at WMU. I had a lot of homework and studying to do. On top of all the homework I had to finish, I had my very first midterm. It was for my holistic class, which is one of my favorite classes. After I finished the test I felt pretty confident that I did well, which makes me really happy because it being my first midterm as a college student is kind of a big deal to me. Now I know how to prepare myself for other tests in the future.

Little Mermaid

With assignment number two I thought it was going to be somewhat complicated, but it turned out to be a very interesting assignment. I chose to do “Little Mermaid” because it was one of my favorite movies as a kid. Although most critics would say that it’s not a good example for children, I thought it was broken down very well. It put it in good understanding for children to find ways to deal with things and different ways to show respect to elders. I learned a lot from the movie and like the set up of how they put the lesson out there.

OUCH

This weekend was so much fun! I got to go to the hockey game and see a bunch of my friends that came up to visit. Also the weather was so nice I loved it! It just wasn’t so much fun during the tailgate and football game being so hot and surrounded by a bunch of people. The best part was both the hockey team and the football team won their games. One not so much fun time was Sunday. I had to go to the hospital because there was a piece of glass stuck in my side. It went to inches deep. I had to get stitches, x-rays, and some shots. It was not a fun way to end such a good weekend. Now I’m fine though just a little pain but I think ill be okay!

FUNZIES AT WMU!

Its homecoming weekend and I am so excited. There’s so much fun events going on it reminds me of when I was in high school. I’m trying to get all my homework done, because tonight I really want to go to the first hockey game! Hockey is one of my favorite sports. Also the football game is going to be so much fun too. Tailgating is my favorite time to get my spirit on. It’s an all around great time. I get to see all my friends just rooting for the Broncos to take a big win! LET’S GO BRONCOS!

Carrie

I think the monsters in the film were the students that teased Carrie everyday about a variety of things. Also i think her mother played a big roll in being a monster also. The students would pick on Carrie, and throw things at her while she was in the shower. They also humiliated her in front of the entire senior class by dumping blood all over her while she was being crowned as prom queen. Her mother was the one who never let Carrie do anything. She stopped her from being a normal high schooler. She also believed Carrie was always sinning because her mother was very spirtual. Carries dicipline from this was being locked in  closet to pray. I thought this movie was really weird in alot of ways, but at the same time had my attention through the whole thing!

Coming Along...

After a long weekend of being at home i was able to complete a lot of my homework assignments. I also went through my literacy narrative and fixed a lot of things that i found that needed to be added and taken out. I really enjoyed writing this paper because it was nice to share my experiences with my reading and writing. It made me go out and get a new book to start reading during my free time. I purchased "A Piece of Cake." So far its an uplifting story about the tragedies of Cupcake Browns life. I literally can't put the book down.
